Collaborate With Others -
At JSEC or Other National and International Schools
Myself along with Dana, from Chicago, and two of the host teachers from Simferopol, Crimea, Ukraine. We worked together for over a week sharing lessons and observing each others' teaching styles.

Investigate Digital Resources For Classroom Collaboration
Although our computer labs are used for several classes, each teacher has an overhead projector and laptop from which they can access the many websites and web 2.0 tools that are integral when incorporating global learning into lessons. In addition, the JSEC library can now host video-conferencing! So, to start, look at the many web 2.0 tools teachers can add to their curriculum. Start by investigating this site by Discovery Education which has a list of sites to add digital resources to the classroom.
The National Standards for Quality Online Teaching will help you self-assess online teaching. But, for most of us, going digital means adding collaborative and/or project-based learning tasks. So, to start an online project-based learning task to your lessons go to Project Based Learning, a website that will help you start a project or join one already in progress.
International Collaborative Learning sites also include iearn, a global network that allows teachers and students to collaborate on project; Globalschoolnet, with content driven collaboration linking teachers and students in project learning exchanges worldwid; Omprakash, which facilitates communication, collaboration, and mutual learning within a diverse international network; and PrimarySource, a site with a wealth of information on global learning that connects teachers with other cultures and peoples to promote the incorporation of global content into the curriculum. World Savvy’s Youth Engagement programs provide opportunities for students to build their knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors for global competency through project-based learning, collaborative problem-solving, art & media exploration and creation, experiential and service-learning, and international exchange
